Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has released the official TNPSC Group 2 Recruitment 2026 notification for recruitment to various posts under the Combined Civil Services Examination – II. A total of 821 vacancies are available under Group II and Group IIA Services in different departments of the Tamil Nadu Government. Eligible candidates can submit their applications through the official TNPSC online application portal.
The recruitment notification has been released under Advertisement No. 740 / Notification No. 07 / 2026 dated 11 August 2026. The online application process has started on 11 August 2026, and interested candidates can submit their applications until 09 September 2026. The preliminary examination is scheduled to be conducted on 01 November 2026 across various examination centres in Tamil Nadu.

Educational Qualification
- The educational qualification varies depending on the post. Most posts require a Degree from a University recognised by the UGC, while certain posts require specific qualifications such as B.A., B.Sc., B.Com., B.L., M.A., M.C.A., M.Sc. (IT/Computer Science), Typewriting/Technical qualifications or other prescribed qualifications. Candidates must check the post-wise educational qualification in the official notification.
Age Limit :-
The age limit varies depending on the post and candidate category.
- General/Other Candidates: Minimum age is generally 18 years, with the maximum age varying by post.
- Probation Officer: 22–32 years
- Sub Registrar, Grade-II: 20–32 years
- Executive Officer, Grade III: 25–37 years for applicable reserved categories
- Reserved Categories (SC/SC(A)/ST/MBC/DC/BC(OBCM)/BCM): No maximum age limit for many posts, subject to notification conditions.
- Age Concession: Applicable for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities, Ex-Servicemen and Destitute Widows as per TNPSC rules.
Note: Where “No Maximum Age Limit” is mentioned, candidates should not have completed 60 years of age as on 01.07.2026 or at the time of selection/appointment.
